ABOUT ME

Dr. Brian EG Cook is assistant professor of theatre at the University of Alaska Anchorage. He received his PhD in Theatre Arts from the University of Oregon, and his MA from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and King’s College, London. At UAA, he's directed several productions, including Stalking the Bogeyman, which toured statewide to raise awareness about the consequences of childhood sexual abuse. He has presented at conferences in the U.S., U.K., and Canada, and published articles and book reviews in Theatre History Studies, Theatre Survey, Performing Arts Resources and the LMDA Sourcebook. He has served as a contributing editor and recently as co-editor of a special section in the 2018 volume of Theatre History Studies on politics, theatre, and change. He is treasurer and executive committee member of the Mid-America Theatre Conference, and he was the organizer and chair of the 2018 Earth Matters on Stage New Play Festival and Symposium in Anchorage.
